Inhaler disposal
Bring back used, unwanted or out-of-date inhalers and we send them for safe disposal, so the gas left inside doesn’t escape into the air.
- Free: any inhaler, empty or not
- Hand them in at the counter any time we’re open: no appointment
- Kept out of household rubbish, where the gas inside leaks out
- A good moment for a quick check of how you use your inhaler
No appointment needed. Come to the counter any time we’re open: Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 10:30pm. Sunday, 12 noon to 10:30pm.
Opening times and directionsIf you feel very unwell, call NHS 111, or in an emergency, 999.
What you get
Why bring them back
Most inhalers still hold some propellant gas when they run out, and those gases warm the planet. In household rubbish they end up in landfill and leak. Returned to us, they’re disposed of safely.
Using your reliever a lot?
If you need your blue reliever inhaler 3 or more times a week, your asthma may not be well controlled. Tell us when you drop them off: the pharmacist can check how you use your inhalers, or suggest a review with your GP.
